About Conference

World Education Day, a grand gathering of educators, researchers, Chinese language and culture lovers, philanthropist and policy makers etc., will be held during September 27-29, 2017 in Dalian, China. This year’s theme is Inheritance, Innovation, Cooperation and Developmen.

World Education Day devotes to create an unprecedented diversified platform where participants could have a comprehensive understanding of the world evolving culture of education and pedagogy.

Inheritance: Aimed at promoting Chinese language and culture, supporting local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitating cultural exchanges, World Education Day selects September 28, which is the day of Confucius’ birthday, as the holding time to honor one of the world’s greatest philosophers-Confucius, thereby reminding people of the importance of Chinese traditional culture.

Innovation: World Education Day covers cutting-edge topics of education industry. Participants will share their latest education tools, technologies and solutions.

Cooperation: World Education Day will promote educational cooperation among various universities, academic institutions and education associations in the world.

Dr. Shuji Nakamura, 
Professor, University of California, Santa Barbara, USA
Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, 2014

Dr. Shuji Nakamura obtained B.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokushima in Japan. He joined Nichia Chemical Industries Ltd. in 1979. In 1989, he started blue LEDs using group-III nitride materials. Nakamura developed the first III nitride-based blue/green LEDs III nitride-based violet laser diodes.
Dr. Nakamura the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1999. He is currently the Research Director of the Solid State Lighting & Energy Electronics Center and The Cree Professor in Solid State Lighting and Display. His research includes MOCVD, bulk crystal growth and device fabrication of gallium nitride (GaN). He received the 2006 Millennium Technology Prize for his invention of revolutionary new energy-saving light sources and the 2014 Nobel Laureate in Physics for the invention of efficient blue, which have enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources. Dr. Nakamura is also the co-founder of Soraa Inc.
